Yes, you CANada

The commercial seal hunt in Canada is barbaric, economically unviable and unnecessary. The number of animals being killed is decreasing rapidly, but every bludgeoned seal pup is one too many. Together we will make sure that Canada stops the seal hunt for good.
Your support is therefore urgently needed now more than ever! In a few weeks we will send our petition with all signatures to Canadian Prime Minister Trudeau. Together we stop the clubs.
Sign now for the future of all Canadian seals!
Dear Prime Minister Trudeau,
It is time to ban the commercial seal hunt for ever.
Hunting is barbaric, economically unviable and does not contribute to the recovery of fish stocks.
Last year, 26,446 seals were clubbed to death for their fur. This is the lowest number since 1986, with the exception of the cancelled hunt in 2020. The immense animal suffering associated with this hunt is in stark contrast with the world’s growing demand for ethical and sustainable products.
In 2010, this demand led 35 countries to implement a ban on the import of seal fur from commercial hunting. Even in countries without this ban, the market appears to have collapsed as well. With a revenue of only $27 per seal killed, hunting has long since ceased to be economically viable.
Claims that seals are responsible for the decline in the number of fish in the oceans were once again proven to be false. In June 2021 research by the Canadian Ministry of Fisheries, Oceans and the Canadian Coastguard showed mass culling of seals will do little to nothing to restore fish stocks.
We therefore ask you again to ban the commercial hunting of seals once and for all. It serves no useful purpose.
